I forgot how much I love the Rippingtons! A guilty pleasure and great Spring/Summer music.

Oliver they have started deleting a whole batch of Blue Note discs over here. I tried getting a copy of Blakey's Free For All and it has been deleted. A great album.

So I wouldn't leave it too long before you get a copy as prices will rise.

This man has still not had a tv programe in the UK to pay tribute to his Great music.
They give out hours and hours of shit to people that dont even touch what this man did.
It makes me wont to Honk.
Curtis was a Genius.
I was lucky to see him live on his last tour in the UK,Before he went home to play that charity gig when the rig fell on him in Central Park .
While he was in rehab his house burnt down.
Its unreal what happened to this great Music Man.

.

I think you're absolutely right about how under appreciated Curtis is. His back catalogue and production credits (perhaps) put him ahead of Marvin Gaye...open for debate anyway!

A few MoFi's arrived today - some of them still sealed. 20 year old virgins. Red Face I have no shame. Winker

Trivia of the day:
Hard to tell on this pictue but this is actually a misprint - it says Original Master Recordings, instead of Original Master Recording. This misprint happened on four releases in the MoFi series.
