Stu, I think Jeff has gotten quite a few people here interested The Weepies. Good stuff IMHO.

Oliver, Adrian think you would love this if you haven't already come acrooss him.

One reviewer describes it as Langauge for the soul. Beautiful album.

Stuart
J.N. can play Hideaway for you next time you cross paths. Search the Weepies or the somewhat dormant individual sites for partners (life and music) Deb Talen and Steve Tannen.

Then check out Blind Pilot:

DO SO! One of the best bands I have ever seen live. There is something quite special about a Kraftwerk gig, although a friend I went with found the adulation of the audience too much. Personally I did feel in the presence of greatness.

The only criticism of the second time I saw them, was that too many people were stood in awe, and not dancing to the best dance set they would ever hear. The fist time was at a dance festival, and dancing was a given.

They are perfectionists, and their live sound is, well, perfect. When the bass kicks in in 'Trans Europe Express' and you feel your ribs vibrate to it is orgasmic. As Ralf Hütter said during 'Pocket Calculator' just as the bass clicked in at 'The Tribal Gathering' (1997) 'Genau so', or in English 'Just right'. (You have to listen carefully to the BBC recoding, but it is there).

There will probably not be too many tours left in them, so pay whatever it costs, and travel as far as you have to, you will remember it as long as you live.

Joe 90 tribute band?

Tool 'Denver 2002' Soundboard recording.

As for Kraftwerk, they are one of the very few bands who have improved with better technology instead of losing the effort to strive for a sound and it showing in a bland music. Fellow German electro artists Tangerine Dream faltered once the sounds came without an effort, Kraftwerk found new possibilities without losing their heart.

They have been a dead band since 1982 IMO

Oh I would give them a year on that, the Japanese and Polish tour in 1983 was spectacular, but once Johannes Schmoelling left the band they died. The 1986 tour was pleasant, with Paul Hasslinger joining, as was the album 'Underwater Sunlight', but then Chris Franks left. After a very bland US tour, his son joined and there was no spread of ideas, just sequencers chugging out bland arpeggios.

If you haven't heard it, give the live album 'Poland' (1983, Jive Electro) a try, it is excellent.

Live it is better to see Redshift or Free System Projekt, they still care.

They are also playing the Isle of White 'Bestival' in September.

Manchester link from their website is also at http://www.mif.co.uk/

Full tour info at www.kraftwerk.com , click the links, then INFO, then TOUR, then the Europe box on the graphic.

While you are there play with the website, it is one of my favourite websites, especially the 'Pocket Calculator' which does work, and is so cheesy.

Wonder if there will be a new album, no, not expecting one of those for at least another 16 years.

Stuart if you need a spare room/bed you can crash at my place.
