Lontano,

This was the second group on the ECM double header I went to this afternoon, I thought they were fantastic. Picked up their latest album, now heading back to the Sage for the Joshua Redmond and Guy Barker gig.

Regards

Nic

Looks like you are having fun there Nic. I saw Nik Bartsch/Ronin last night in London and yes they were very good. Enjoy Joshua - I have seen him live a few times and he is a great sax player. What a great day you are having seeing so many good acts in one day.

Pat & Jeff - RE: Over the rhine.

I have a copy of...

somewhere which I have never listened to. Is it worth digging out? (Most of my stuff is currently in storage while I labour under the red tape that is council planning)

Hi Gordon,
That is a good OTR overview album. It contains songs from other albums. I think it would give you a good idea what the band is about.

Hope that helps.

I am newish to OTR so glad Pat could comment knowingly. I love the beautiful mood their music puts me in and think her voice is sublime. I hope you enjoy whatever you hear.

Hi nymph,

I bought this LP when it first came out and thought it was good.
I am not too impressed with her later stuff though.

Regards,

Chris N

Hi Chris,

To be honest i don't think i've heard her later stuff...
But this album brings back a nice memory to me ~ a rainy day in February 1992 i visited my local hifi shop ( just loitering with no intent ) ... and then the salesman asked me if i would kindly compare a LP12/aro/troika vs LP12/ekos/troika vs naim audio CDS, if i gave him my verdict and opinion...
The record and cd used was Beverly Craven, which worked fine for the demo music, thought it a bit girly at the time but have since grown quite fond.
Back in the early 90's i paid £13.99 for my Beverly Craven cd, they can now sell for less than a pound! : (
Will also buy a vinyl copy one day ; )
