These recordings were part of my basic listening some 25 years ago. In between I have transcribed them to CD, and they wear well.
Yes, and much as i admire all the performer on this set, i noticed that the final LP is Helmut Walcha, they saved the best for last! : )

I used to own these LPs as individual items, and I do not know the precise contents of the box. Which Walcha recordings did DG put into the box?

Just seen your earlier post, so forget that - not sure I will put it on my wish list though!

I am inclined to agree with you munch. I wasn't a big fan in the 70s (you weren't allowed to like them if you were a punk!) so I don't have the original records. The sound quality on these is a little disappointing so far for me.

I was going to see Pete D last friday but still felt like shite with the flu.
Friends that went said it was a very very good gig.
His new album is very good, the guy from Blur did alot of work on it.

Munch / Stuart,
Your flu was a great pity. Such a concert must be very worthwhile.
I've no education in music theory, I only can tell my experience with this music.
For me Peter Doherty is a genius with his often simple, very good sounding songs. Especially his intro's are masterly (listen to Babyshambles Shotter's Nation !).
Blur's Graham Coxon proved his talents on his solo albums. So I'm not surprised about his contribution.
