My favourite drummer, saw him a couple of times with his jazz bands and met him once, very very nice guy. I went through a massive prog/yes phase when I was young but funny, Bruford was what started getting me into the world of jazz, so I am grateful to him for that. Odd how someone who is normally considered a "rock" musician, and a drummer at that, can have a big influence in opening up a young kid's musical taste.
Sad to hear he recently retired from live performing, but thankfully he will still record.
It would have been interesting to hear what " The Gates of Delirium" would have sounded like with him, or " Awaken ". " Topographic" would have most likely have been much tighter with him also !
cheers

I agree that Bruford is sorely missed on 'Tales From Togoraphic Oceans', it really plods at times.
I do think that Alan White had found his mark on 'Relayer' and 'Going for the One', they would have been very different with Bruford, but they have a rock drive that suits the music.
It is very interesting to hear recordings of the Genesis 1976 tour with Bruford playing, the music is so much lighter and flows more than when Chester Thompson took over in 1977.

Am I on an illegal substance as that cover is moving when I look at it?

Don't worry.
They can't jail you for a front cover.

New album from Italian Pianist Enrico Pieranunzi

Well I finally took the plunge and bought this at the weekend for the super bargain price of £40 (HMV in Oxford Street if anyone else is interested). So far I'm pleasantly surprised by the recording and performing quality of what I've heard (Brandenbergs, and Orchestral Suites). Now listening to a CD of violin and trio sonatas, which is sounding just fine.
