Outstanding (if you like African music). One of my albums of the year so far - I'm sure it will stay there.
I have been wondering whether to buy or not. I'll take your comment as a recommendation then.
Definitely! It sounds so joyous and uplifting, when the disc comes to an end I feel I wish it went on and on.............
Great, I'll add it to my list as well.

Pearl Jam 'MTV Unplugged' DVD.
Had an email from the Ten Club Store, to say they are working with to give some credit back for the charges UPS have made in handling the import duties to European customers.
Not only do I like this band, but I also hugely respect their attitude to big business skimming off profits from their fans, and the stand they took against Ticketmaster in the 1990s.
Oh an also damned good drumming from Dave Abbruzzese on the DVD.
***Have finally set up the Rega, and am listening to vinyl first the first time in years, Pearl jam 'Drop in the Park' from the above first.***

Well now I have the record deck set up I am able to compare the Swinging Pig release of the Led Zeppelin Madison Square Gardens 1975 vinyl release that used one of my artworks with the CD version I have from the 'Flying Circus' release.
Both are the same source, but I am afraid that the bootleg pressing on coloured vinyl has a fair bit of surface noise. It also does not have the complete show, and cuts 'Dazed and Confused' into two parts to fit across two sides.
So it is very nice to own a very well made print of my artwork, even though it was done against my wishes, but I think the vinyl will remain in it, and the CD will be the one to listen to.
Oh and on the drumming front (again) John Bonham was on great form.
My cat has never seen the record deck set up before, and she is fascinated by it, I have to keep a close eye on her, in case she gets too enthusiastic in her attentions.

Symphony no.15 in A major, op.141
Recorded in 1974
Concerto for Violin and Orchestra no.2 in C sharp minor op.129
Recorded in 1967 David Oistrakh violin
Moscow Pholharmonic Symphony Orchestra
Kirill Kondrashin conductor
[ADD] Stereo Melodiya CD @ Jan 2007

Playing the 11th cd of 11 cd box-set. This is the last symphony from Shostakovich, it reaches extremes of cheerfulness, and also darkness... (no big surprise there then!) but after listening to all of them over the past few months this is a very enjoyable final symph i must say...
I highly recommend this 'Kondrashin' box-set, quite captivating much of the time! : )

Agree on both counts Howard. I only have Schoolyard Ghosts and find it rather drab, despite my best efforts to get into it. Tim Bowness' voice is rather one-dimensional/limited. Blackfield, on the other hand, are a different kettle of fish - I love both their albums. The DVD is good too.

I think Blackfield are superb and yes the DVD is wonderful. But I think No-Man Together We're Stranger is one of the finest albums in the Steve Wilson catalogue. Wonderful late night atmosphere/listening.

Some Bach played by H WAlcha, comprising several Preludes and Fugues as the last music through the set of antiques before removing them to the new house at the weekend ...
With nothing else left in the room, the set has never sounded so well!
Realy Royd Minstrels on a NAP 140 can fill quite a space very happily. With no likely consequences, I have turned the set up more than usual!!!
My new room is slightly smaller, though it will be comfortable ...
