This was a great album at the time but there are better albums in the catalogue that have stood the test of time.

Please try

Darkness on the Edge of Town
Born to Run

and then maybe move onto

The River
The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle

Adrian

That would be my choice too, but don't forget Nebraska.

And treat yourself with a live album (if not a performance). Hammersmith Odeon, London '75 will do if you stay within the boundaries of the official releases...

Thanks guys,

I'll always try to sample a range of stuff from an artist before I make a final judgment to whether they are my kind of music, the version of Born In The USA I bought is a cracking re-issue and sounds great and I know the songs are leaning towards the commercial but still have a American blues/rootsy feel I'll try some of his other stuff in time.

Now Yes blew my socks off the first time I heard Fragile so it was inevitable I'd end up buying this nugget from the 80's that makes it 8 Yes albums and counting, Smile.

Dean,

I'm just wondering how you came to this judgment regarding Yes, as Fragile and 90125 couldn't be more different! But I like them both too.

Do you like Drama? Often underrated, but I love it, and I thing it may suit your taste, in case you missed it.

I did not dare propose it to Dean, but this one came to my mind too.

Maurice,

I have a strange ability when I like an artist/group to be able to like all their output and Owner Of A Lonely Heart was a track that I liked from my youth. I have mainly listened to Classic Yes 1970/77 for the past couple of years and only picked up 90125 yesterday. I'm not one of those types, and this applies especially to Prog, that if a band tries out something new or comes up with commercially acceptable music I don't dismiss it out of hand I listen to it on its own merits now 90125 is great Pop/Prog album but it will never be better than the more complex and personal favorites of Fragile and Tales Of Topographic Oceans for me but that doesn't make it a bad album. Oh! and yes I do like Drama its a polished and accomplished album though the Yes purists would beg to differ I'm sure.

Just spotted this on All Music:

Never heard of it. A Christmas album by Chris Squire ? Any good ? What part is swiss, I read it was an english choir ?

Last swiss Yes thing I am aware of was Patrick Moraz on Relayer, another underestimated album (and an old favourite of mine).

Anyway it's another season now, better switch to Gong Winker
