I recall you posting in the thread about modifying the internal file structures of the HDX to add album art? Could this have something to do with it?

I recall you posting you've "squeezed" 712 CDs in the HDX, so it could be full indeed!

Never heard of this before though, IMO the best way is to contact Naim or Phil Harris from NaimNet Technical Support for a sensible explanation.

Please keep us informed!

Regards,
Michel

OK, Sorry. That tread has now had most of the offending posts removed and I could not remember who had actually done what.

A normal CD is about 700MB, so you have filled the system to within just over one CD's worth of data, if I am reading this correctly.

Alsorts of things happen to computer when you get very close to filling the Hard Discs, such as no possibility of defragmentation and sometimes a complete failure to boot up at all.

Though I am no expert what I propose is that you do nothing more with the HDX till you have spoken to Naim Technical Support or your Dealer has done so on your behalf.

You could be very close to a serious breakdown if you do anything to it at this stage.

That is only offered by way of suggesting the maximum of caution rather than the situation turning to tears, rather than any specific knowledge. Same as not driving a car after the oil pressure light has come on. Could be very simple to fix, but you could ruin it if you persist in driving.

since i am in the limits and done noting in three days, what am i doing wrong..

I have no idea, and as no one else seems to know with certainty, I refer you to the cautious advice of doing nothing more till you or your dealer contact Naim, in case you manage to wreck something.

Quite possible that this is over cautious, but as they say, better safe than sorry.

klotis, I think the Gurus are great speakers, although for me they were always going to be temporary. I intended to spend about the same on speakers as the pre and power amps, but could not afford it all at once. I'm waiting for the Ovators to start shipping and have a pair reserved if they work in my room.
