Naim Sampler #2

Posted by: Nyonyo on 17 November 2007

A friend of mine was auditioning some Naims equipment and he asked to come to listen.
I did not pay attention to the CD that he played for me. I was so impressed by the music and also the quality of the recording. At the end of the listening session, I asked him what CD. It was a Naim Sampler#2.

Do you guys like that CD?

I've just got the Neil Stacey's Leave it to Last, on the Naim label and think it's magical. Can't recommend this enough, very favourable reviews from the Acoustic Alchemy crowd - (Pizza Express Jazz Club at Christmas anyone?) I'd also heard Jon van der Veer's The Ark at Basically Sound and Vision (v. nice dealer btw, stunning barn conversion shop, thanks Tony!) in the sticks near Norwich. He played me the track 911, which raised the hairs on the back on my neck so much i went though a shirt-a-day for the next week....ok a bit of an exageration. These are the only Naim albums I've heard but will look out for more in future.

Its a cracker. Opened the window to all sorts of new music. Better than any other Sampler.
