Goodness that takes me back. Just the name! I sometimes hope that maybe instead of a Bach Christmas On Radio Three, Radio One might present a 1973 day or whatever, where their then playlist guild the records chosen, which would remind us forcibly how much has changed in the field of pop music! Perhaps they could wheel out some of the old DJs as well!

PS: Does anyone remeber Housewive's Choice on a Saturday with such wonderful things as ,Three Little Fishes?' Has that come out on CD, I wonder?

'Morning Fredrik,
Thankyou for your comments.
The reason i started this thread is because, while listening to 60s female vocalists like Clodagh Rodgers for example, they seemed very compressed and undynamic, where Kiki's music is still very fresh, open and dynamic, even albums recorded in the 70s.
There is a possibility that some of her Rocket back catalogue is to be re-released very shortly.(Feb/March)

p.s I listen to classical as well, also a bit of jazz now and then.

Ah yes KiKi I remember her pinning me to my seat when she appeared on Top Of The Pop's with Long John Baldry.

Interesting that some of her early work might become available thanks for the tip.

Another lady of that era still going strong and with jazz / soul written right through her is ELKIE BROOKS I have quite a few of her earlier LP's and have to say she does'nt sound undynamic or compressed either.

regards
Geoff

On ths side of the pond we only heard of her when Elton John tried to partner up with her. Never went very far. Didn't know she was popular before that.
