Ground issue

I've just noticed that when I put my HDX into standby, I hear a ground hum. That's a first for my system. It makes no difference if I move from floating to chassis ground. I don't hear the hum at all when the HDX is in full operational mode. My system consists of an Ayre KX-R preamp, and Ayre MX-R monoblocks. I'm using RCA out to the preamp. Any thoughts?

Do you have a display connected or any other thing?

Nope - no display connected to the HDX. Just the power cord, ethernet cable, and RCA cables.

Try to ground your preamp.
Ask Philip at HiFi Centre, he should be able to help.
