The new gear

Had a listen to a 202/200 with new HC and Napsc recently. This stuff is the direct replacement for the gear I've got at home.
I have one question..

Is there anyone out there who seriously prefers the sound of the 'olive' kit?
To my ears the new stuff sounds miles ahead

Nah you're right.
But the old stuff still looks better.

I agree with you--I think the new stuff is significantly better. I was able to compare the 102 to the 202 and there was simply no contest--the 202 was a lot better and approached what I remember my 82 sounding like. Ditto the 200--which in certain respects approaches and may exceed my olive 250.

My impression is that the new line retains the strengths of the olive gear--timing, rhythm, tunefulness, and grip--and incorporates greater refinement, subtlety, and the like.
