Probably as bad as it did on the telly.

Mind you I think FYR Macedonia gets my vote. However hold on there I have just seen the Russian babes. God so many to choose from.

Great lyrics from the Russian entry though.

Oh! Don’t call me funny bunny
I’ll blow your money money
I’ll get you to my bad ass spinning for you
Oh! I’ll make it easy honey
I’ll take your money yummy
I’ve got my bitches standing up next to me

Gotta tease you nasty guy
So take it don’t be shy
Put your cherry on my cake
And taste my cherry pie

and what did we have We're flying the flag.

Was that after I had finished with them and FYR Macedonia?

Anybody buying the DVD?

Did we win? Can't believe with such a musical tour de farce we didn't.

For those that turned the sound off, you missed the best bits. Terry Wogans commentary.

Chaps

We lost the contest because of Iraq.

The only people who think the best song wins is the plonkers who actually perform. Everyone else just accepts that it is a second rate embarassment.

Its days must be surely numbered.

The UK entry, the winner, and everying in between (Not forgetting Ireland). I am speachless. So this is democracy at work. We get exactly what we deserve. Euro-pop, politics, ...

And, no offence intended, why is Israel included in a European song contest? What about The Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, ...

I can't agree - I think the best song won and the voting was completely fair with everybody judging each song on its merits and not simply voting for their neighbours. Confused

I'm not convinced it was because of Iraq, most of the voters probably aren't that intelligent.

But I get more entertainment watching the voting patterns, as does Terry Wogan, than watching/listening to the various comedy acts musical acts.

It's been a joke for at least 10 years, but if we could get the whole world to join in, like we've managed to get the entire eastern block to take part, and instead of fighting wars, we simply had to endure this once a year, I suppose I could cope..........

Our (boys night) vote changed from no.6 (we were pissed by this time and didn't notice what country it was, but it was FYPM) at the start, but we wanted to turn the wind machine up higher,.... to those dirty Russian girls, but then I finally had one of my "Whoa, now THIS is BRILLIANT" moments when Ukraine came on with the high camp Dame Edna thing, and I went alone with wanting them to win.
I was disappointed that the UK didn't get a lone zero, but the Irish spoilt that. Frown
The winning thinly disguised lesbian tour de force was pretty unexpected I thought. I really haven't seen Eurovision for probably 20 years (in fact I didn't know it still happened until this week) and know it has always been very camp, but to take the camp aspect and turn it around for a gay women anthem was pretty surprising. The point obviously got through and I suppose the vote went for bravery. I think that was good. I would have been disappointed if it had got buried, but to win?....maybe...good on 'em anyway.
What a laugh, eh?!
Why are you taking it seriously?

ROTF!!!surely you can see that this thing is rigged???????

The telephone systems in the Eastern Block countries are still controlled by Putin. Although all the numbers are PUBLISHED in Russia/Ukraine/Rommania/Bulgaria etc etc doesn't mean they are actually CONNECTED to the voting machine!!!!!!!!!

The series is almost as good as Only Fools & Horses.......ok, only kidding........

Cheers

I actually liked the winning entry - didn't occur to me as a lesbian thing though until Rasher's earlier post! Red Face

What about all the great songs that have won Eurovision - can anybody forget Refain with those stunning lyrics by Emile Gardaz and wonderous tune by Géo Voumard. The performance of Lys Assia was as memorable as any of the truly great music events. Click here to see what I mean - surely one of Switzerland's proudest moments Smile

[QUOTEWe lost the contest because of Iraq.[/QUOTE]

Didn't they vote for us then?
Posted on: 13 May 2007 by Tam
I think it was a travesty. Our song had very clearly earned it's nil points - we were robbed. Winker
