A pun above

Why is it that hairdressers in the UK and Ireland nearly always use ridiculous puns for the names of their shops? It's always something like "A Cut Above" or "Heads You Win". I've even seen "Curl up and Dye". Do they do this is in other countries?

Imagine if other businesses did the same. You'd have banks named "Saving Time" and solicitors names "Grabit and Fleece". Ridiculous.

Surely there must be some cutting wit responses?

I think it's universal. I started noticing it when Homer Simpson pointed it out in an episode of The Simpsons.

I'm afraid that in this context my mind cannot help but wander towards the excellent Norfolk Naim dealer ... Basically Sound.
