New forum member says hello.

Hi All,

I have just joined the forum and thought I would introduce myself.

I am on the verge of returning to some ‘real’ hi-fi after an absence of some 25 years!

Back then I had a pair of Tannoy 15” monitor golds, some NAD amplification and the first Sony CD player (a something or other ‘1’ I think)

Before I gave up and went over to the dark side (B+O) I ended up with two NAD amps and a homemade active crossover running the Tannoys.

From memory it all sounded wonderful but I was only twenty years old and my ears worked in those days.

Anyway recently I decided to treat myself and after a lot of listening I have ordered 112 / 150 / CD5 / FC2 / Allae / Fraim. It all arrives on 20/12/03 Smile

I work in electronics (RF mainly) so although I do firmly believe that there is ‘magic’ in some audio products that defies logical explanation, I am sceptical about some of the claims for things such as mains leads etc. I’ll post my theories and get slaughtered later!!!

Once things have settled down I quite fancy trying another 150 and an ixo2 next year (God I’m upgrading something I haven’t got yet!!)

Anyway I look forward to posting my initial impressions soon.

Regards

Graham.

Welcome Graham

What an excellent Christmas present - you will find that the tv becomes redundant.

What TV ?

I had to sell it to pay for the Fraim.

Only joking.

Graham,

I would like to extend a warm (a very warm) welcome to you from the dark side. In fact I think I speak for the vast minority of evildoers who frequent this site when when I say :

Hello Graham Smile

I second that as the Prince of darkness and all things evil and unkind.

At the moment however it seems my Hi-fi listening will have to take a back seat to the best first person Nazi slaughtering PC game in existence.

Its called 'Call of duty' and last night I got through Normandy, A Nazi redoubt in the German alps and now I am pinned down by a nasty Jerry pillbox on the Pegasus Bridge.

Sure beats over analysing hi-fi gear to death.

And you get to kill something legally.

Have fun on that 88 at Pegasus.

Use the Enfield stay low and keep moving. Use the trenches.

Anyways have fun I hope it mellows you out a bit.

rgds,

mike.

Thanks Soldier.

It's a darn sight better than being stuck in the Ardennes in medal of honour and trying to protect the idiot unlocking the door from the Nazi hordes in th Breaktrough expansion pack.
