and....(wait for it)...
NAP150
Haha! Ha! Hahaha!
It actually doesn't sound as bad as I expected.
Getting delirious, waiting for the NAP500. Should arrive tomorrow. Weee!

I'm actually impressed by the 150. I had a pair running active into SBLs for a while. Very fun! As advertised, 150s are fast and articulate little beasts.
Of course asking a 150 to drive DBLs is just silly; it's clearly unable to get a grip. Bass is slow and boomy, and at high volumes the music is fairly shouted at you. Aye, there's a hint of clarity, but in general things sound constricted and mushy.

Respect is due!
All that lovely kit and the brains/taste to play the mighty Grant Lee Phillips on it
You have a great weekend

More important things in life than work man. Surely they can spare you for one day...?
If you want to light your DBLs up like a Xmas tree investigate the following...

Also worth seeking out is Kog Transmissions (record label)
DBL's - hmmmmmmm! (read in a Homer Simpson voice)

Alas, the DBLs are not mine; they're on loan, though possibly for a while. When they find a home I'll revert to my SBLs. ACtually, I suspect that the DBLs are too large for my room, though I've never run them with a "good" amp. I did have a bizarre active setup for a short while, using a borrowed 250, a pair of 150s, and a SNAXO3-6+HICAP. The 250 was on the tweeters, of course. It sounded...unbalanced, to say the least.
The NAP500 should be here any minute now.
Oh the anticipation.
E.
But the damn SNAICs from the preamp are too
short!!!!!
ARGH!!!!!!!
(I have the CDS2 and 82+supercap in a closet
in my listening room; the NAP500 and XPS are
in the adjoining room......)

I'll spare everyone the obligatory, hyperbole-ridden paean to the virtues of the 500. Except to say: I laughed out loud in astonishment.
Enjoying the music,
E.
- I want to know how you manage the transition back to SBLs (if that happens).
Congratulations on your system - exquisite.
(DBL owner wishing for a 500 but not daring to listen to one)
Enjoy!
