Help -NBL positioning

Posted by: JeremyB on 03 June 2003

The inevitable has happened, the record collection has grown and I am considering moving the Ikea Bondes full of records into the corners next to the NBLs. Trouble is, this will decrease the free space either side of the speakers from 42 inches to 26 inches.

I remember reading the NBLs need lots of space on either side. The question is, has anyone had a similar problem and what can exactly is the effect of putting objects like record storage within 2 feet of the NBLs? Also, would it help to move the speakers closer together and what would be the effect? The records are a bugger to move so any advice is appreciated.

(Above costings allow for trade-ins)

If I went for the 300, I would have 2x250's and a a 2/4 crossover (currently driving my SBL's) to trade in, so the cost wouldn't be so great.

If I go for an extra 250 (2nd hand would be a good move to buy a matching Olive one) and the Snaxo 2/4 swapped for a 3/6 again, I really don't think it would be as expensive as you suggest.........

Using active 250's won't cost me anywhere near £8500 as I already have 2 of the beasts........ I think it'd be more like £900 for the amp and whatever for the Snaxo 3/6....... Again, I'd get a couple of hundred for the 2/4 as PX.

I already have an XPS2.......

A 500 is not an option........... In my dreams maybe........

Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

Blythe

Didnt realise you were already active and had XPS2.

Its just the CDS3 and the NAP500 then, you know the NBLs wont realise their full potential with any thing less Wink (and Dereks offered me 10% commission if I can persuade you)

You should have read my public profile then Wink
Says there that I've an active system.........

CDS3 and 500 will have to wait - I was wondering why Derek was so keen, I didn't realise you were putting him under pressure (to get your 10%)! That explains why in a weak moment I succumed to the CDX2 XPS2 252 last week!

To realise the full potential of the NBL's I'd have to get 3 x 500's and the CDS3............ And re-mortgage the house Frown

Enjoy the 10% and spend it wisely - I suggest you buy something from Derek as I've been promised 10% comission.........
