Blu-ray Music Discs
I popped into HMV in Oxford Street last week when I was up in London and took a careful look at their current stock of Blu-ray DVDs to see whether the range was interesting enough to justify spending £££££ on a Blu-ray player and 1080p plasma.
Appart from Mama Mia, I couldn't find a single Blu-ray DVD of pop/rock/country/folk/musical at all. I did however, find a batch of ballet productions on Blu-ray. So Mama Mia and La Fille seem to be about my quota!!!!
Am I simply looking in the wrong section of HMV or is Blu-ray simply not/never producing music DVDs ?
Cheers

Blu-Ray (off PS3) IS the coming thing - as a friend keeps telling me.
He now has two discs.

Don, I think you may have been in the wrong part of HMV. I've seen some of the Opus Arte range there, and have often been tempted by their version of Die Zauberflote. HMV online also do a fair number of BDs as do Europadisc.
Good hunting.

Don, I've checked at my usual internet shop and they have much music blu-ray, ranging from AC/DC to Tori Amos, the Foo Fighters, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse or the Toten Hosen... among many others! I guess you'll need to look again

There's actually a fair amount of music/live concert BD out there, indeed I was looking at a whole rack full today in a store in Bangkok, including Gilmour's Remember That Night Live At The Royal Albert Hall which was specifically shot in HD...
I should imagine only more shall appear as time goes on...
Judging from Adam's comment, I guess there's no Naim BDP on the horizon...!!!!

Well,
I just checked out HMV and Amazon on line. Not exactly an awe-inspiring selection of blu-ray music DVDs on offer.
In the HMV shop in Oxford Street, which I presume is one of their better stocked outlets, I counted about 25 Blu-ray film/tv-drama DVDs that I might consider.
It seems to me that the overall selection of films/music is still rather limited.
Cheers

It is located at
www.cede.ch , unfortunately items are only dispatched in Switzerland, so I guess it wont help you
You can still navigate the menus though and find references you might look for at other sites. Menus are quite a mess to navigate, so I'd recommend you to click on "blu-ray" on the top menu, then "search", leaving the text field empty. It will then show the 2000+ results.
