Your snow pictures

Posted by: Kevin-W on 02 February 2009

Given that London and the South East have had their heaviest snowfalls in 18 years, I thought that it might be fun to see everyone's snow pics from today.

To get everyone started, here's one of mine, taken in luverly Balham earlier...

A leetle snow in Worcester this morning.

In this, my street one car driver decided to try to get out and there was a little collision.

I walked and rode:

Wow Munch, that's spooky. The road I live in begins with "B" - does that compute?

In that case you confirm the thought I had - it is the road I lived in shortly about 30 years ago. I thought it was!

It does actually, on a second look! Big Grin But this is what happens after you have your windows cleaned - It snows, then you get salt and slush thrown up against it! Roll Eyes

Dear George,

Is that a Carlton? it looks very similar to mine which I bought new in 1988.

Please see below.

Kind regards

George.

Dear George [GML],

Yes, an old Carlton Kermesse.

It was bought by a friend of mine about the mid-eighties, and has been used for racing a time trialing, so used in action, you might say.

His wife has him more domesticated now, and though he still has a much newer racer now, they tend to go on rambles on a pair mountain bikes now, so the old Carlton had become redundant.

At work I found a derelict BSA racer, and as I always had wanted a really good bike, I asked about, but nothing doing on it. I mentioned this to my friend who told me not to go bidding on the BSA, because as he put it, "I've got something much nicer for you if you want a racer!"

His wife had told him to throw it out as it was taking space in the garage ...

So it has come to me, and it is lovely, fat like a greyhound, and you get where your going without being tired out!

I still have old Easgle mountain bike, but this is so nice. I honestly cannot see me ever using the Eagle again. I suppose I should keep it for emergemcies, or set it up with panniers and so on as a work horse.

Well spotted!
