At last a decent sounding Oasis al***

Just got Dig Out Your Soul on cd. I was very surprised by the sound quality(compared to previous Oasis cd's) The track Get Off Your High Horse Lady, is especially dynamic with good resolution. Oh, and the songs are great too.

I'm glad to hear you say that. I downloaded a copy of Falling Down from itunes and it sounded poor, I've been hoping the CD will sound better.
I just received my tickets for the Madison Square Garden show in December, row 20, Noel's side of the stage...

I picked up a copy on vinyl earlier in the week; 2 heaveyweight discs beautifully pressed and at 45rpm sound absolutely superb.
There are some good tunes here. I'd read an interview in which Noel Gallagher stated his intention was to produce songs with a definite groove to them, more than the usual verse/chorus anthemic approach. I think they have succeeded admirably and this is an LP I have played repeatedly since purchase. The satand out track for me is The Turning, with a nod to the Happy Mondays.
You either like Oasis or you don't - but if you've ever enjoyed anything they have have put out in the past there is much to admire here.

I wasn't going to get this one as I am not a huge fan of the Gallachers but have to say it is a good album, very enjoyable. Will spin it again in the morning in the motor - should be good for driving.

Just bought the CD to listen to in the car on the way home.
First listen verdict? With the exception of the direct lifts from 'Five to One' and 'Put on your red dress Baby/High-heeled sneakers', it's the best album Kula Shaker never did (though I s'pose they have Jay Darlington).

I was not impressed with the sound it appeared too compressed for me. Mind you they do have that sort of 'blanket' of sound. Not a bad album though.
Now the new Motorhead's album, that my friend brought over as they are not my cup of tea, was probably the most compressed sound I have ever heard. It was simply ridiculous. What are these companies thinking of, as if they go on providing inferior product then the CD will die. On a more positive note; the Deluxe Editions have been superb both in sound, bonus tracks and packaging. Music is art and the packaging should compliment the art as the Deluxe Editions do.
