CD 5 - Remote control or front panel?

Bit of an old chestnut this one, but it's normally about the more expensive players.

I'm currently using a CD5 (with a F/C2) into a 32.5 - 160 and a pair of Quad ESL 57's.

I can hear a difference; selecting tracks on the player and the remote control.

It sounds cleaner to me, using the player's controls.

Anyone else?

Do you have Peter Belt stickers attached to the player?

Do you mean you can hear a difference between a track you selected by pushing the buttons on the front panel and the same track selected using the remote control?

Either those electrostatics are very revealing; or I'm going mad.

Probably the latter!
