Which Al***s Do You Demand Are Re-released Immediately?

The Morph the Cat thread got me thinking about stuff that's scandalously unavailable and needs to be re-released right now.
For a kick off, Tim Buckley's Starsailor.

OK, just one more from me then: Residents - 'Not Available'

The complete Melanie (Safka) would be nice - but if they can't do them all then Garden In the City, Stoneground Word and Madrugada would be a start - never released on CD.

Mozart's 23rd piano concert, Horowitz with Giulini and the La Scala orchestra. It is a scandal that it's only available as part of a six disc DG box set (though, in fairness, that too is worth having).
Turns out it is available (as part of this two disc set as well).

I also wish that someone would release all the Floh De Cologne albums with a little book that had an English translation of the texts.
Good call. But loads of german stuff is being re-released that people said would never under any circumstance become available again so you never know. I'm bitter about this because I spent obscene amounts on the Galactic Supermarket, Cosmic Couriers, Lord Krishna Vin Golonka and Walter Wegmuller on the understanding that legal problems wouyld prevent it seeing the light of day only for it appear on mid-price CD.
I would like to see a lot of the Namlook, etc re-released on the Fax label. There's a Bill Laswell album on Fax that went for £200 on e-bay recently. I want it so bad that it hurts. But not quite enough to spend that sort of money on it

Clive Gregson and Christine Collister - "Home and Away". A CD of this just went for over £40 on e-bay. Quite clearly there is demand for this album!

I would love to hear Mike Stern's - Standards (and other songs) which is out of print.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Mike (twice) and buying his 'These Times' CD off him, but he too did not have a copy of the mentioned album.
If anyone here has a copy, i'd love to know what they think of the album.
Stan
Haven't heard the cd but here are some copies for sale.

Thanks John.
Will check it out. Quite difficult to buy used CD's on the net. Can't help it in this case i guess.

Little Feat's studio albums all long overdue for the re-mastering treatment given to Waiting For Columbus - are you listening Warner Brothers??

OK ROTF, rubbi-tin. Have you got the first Raincoats album BTW? That would be worth reissuing. Or Earth Opera's first and early Cabaret Voltaire?
Have fun!

I've got lots of early Cabs on vinyl

Surely it's not that difficult to get hold of second hand?
Certainly Mute (who have rereleased all early CV stuff in recent years) have got Hai/Johnny Yesno/Live at The Lyceum advertised on their website:http://www.mute.com/ecommerce/index.jsp
I'll add Cabaret Voltaire - 'Code' and Shriekback's 'Jam Science' in cd format...

Neil Young, Time Fades Away. Wish to hell he'd get a move on with the archive box set 'n all.

Get jealous time I have 2 x 45/Hai/Johnny YesNo/Red Mecca/Crackdown on vinyl and Golden Moments on CD,plus some others that escape the fading brain cells, along with Shriekback's "My Spine is the bassline/Little Birds" 12" single, which is nice.

King Curtis Live at The Filmore, deleted on vinyl for neigh on 30 years following the murder of King Curtis, and then issued only briefly on CD as part of an Atlantic anniversary issue. Shame on you Rhino.

I've just discovered (I think about a year late) that Gregson and Collister's excellent 'Home and Away' live album has been re-released. Hurrah.

No-one's mentioned the Beatles; bit too obvious, I suppose.
My vote would be the Lowell George-era Little Feat albums, with any bonus tracks they care to add. They were not well served by the boxed set of a couple of years ago IMHO. All true classics and most of them better than the much-celebrated 'Waiting for Columbus' which has been remastered.

KRAFTWERK. they are supposed to be releasing them but as usual with kraftwerk it takes ages.

You have my vote too,Rupert bear.I have all Little feat cd's with Lowell george and his solo. They are never off my hifi and i think they sound good, but a remaster (good quality) would be excellent.I would be straight out and buy the lot again with no hesitation.
ps you never know,Daryl.

A disgrace that this wonderful set has been deleted less than a year after it was reissued.

Hi Stan,
I have "Standards..." and I can tell you it's a great album. It takes some time to get used to but then you like it for a long time, as the case with many of the best albums! I got it during my guitar-days, oh those were the days...
