Roger Waters is too nice these days

What happened to the fearsome, fabulous grump of the 1970s and 80s (and early 90s)?

Waters was even described as "cuddly" in a recent interview with the Big Issue. Eh?

What's going on? Apart from an alleged argument with Madogga at the Live8 rehearsals (he apparently told the famously egotistical diva to "get a fucking move on" when she turned up late and overran her alloted slot by an hour) Captain Bombastic has been remarkably conciliatory, even towards Fat Dave.

Does anyone miss the old Rog? I met him once for an interview, he was fearsomely intelligent and articulate, but a huge egomaniac, a complete misanthrope and incredibly scathing about everyone. All that therapy and living in the States has obviously done him no good...

Not sure if he has calmed down or not, but if he has it probably something to do with the ageing process and life being too short etc.

It has been interesting to hear and read the numerous interviews he has done in recent weeks. Compared to the near silence in the last 12 years or so this has to be welcomed even if he is now being more conciliatory - and he at least is now being productive, an opera and a couple of other albums in the pipeline has to be good news!

Does anyone else think that there is a similarity in tragedy between the "feud" of RW v PF and the situation between Peter Green & Fleetwood Muc?
I know which one I think is more acrimonious.
