New Royd Website
Posted by: Mike Hanson on 30 May 2003
The new Royd website is up and running! You can see it at
www.roydaudio.com.
The historical information for the retired models is still incomplete, along with the distributor and retailer listings. We're also on the lookout for reviews of the RR1, RR2 and RR3. (Reviews of the retired models will be up sometime next week.)
Let me know what you think, or if you run into any problems. Thanks.

Well done Mike, works very quickly and is informative.
Perhaps a few more images on the pages with a lot of text to break it up a bit as the long lines are hard to read (I am viewing in 1280 x 1024 !) - some of your cool drawings for the set-up page would/could be useful.
Good job!
Regards
Geoff

Nice work, Mike.
If you need a review of the Sorcerers I'd be pleased to pen a few paragraphs, saying that they're much better than those stinky poopy-head Kans everyone raves about.

Is that right???? Are the RRxs really 83db/w/m? That's a difficult load, even if they're between 6 and 8 ohms.
Regards,
Frank.

Geoff...
I'll look into the formatting issues, to see if I can make it a bit less visually daunting.
Joe...
Feel free to send something along. I'm not so concerned, however, about reviews for the older models. I'm mostly hoping to find "official" reviews of the current line-up.
Frank...
Yes, the RR1 and RR3 are a tougher load than the retired models, and I don't understand why myself. The crossovers are quite straightforward. Perhaps it's that "compound reflex bass loading" causing all of the problems, just as a sealed box is harder to drive than a regular ported enclosure.
The RR2 is a bit more efficient, though.

Sensitivity and which amps
Frank — As per website RR1s have sens. 83dB; RR2s are 88dB.
In order to get the RR2's worth out of the RR2 over the RR1, what level of amplification are we talking about? (Not with regard to sensitivity, but with regard to system balance, bang-for-buck)
!!! There's always money somewhere for the next upgrade... !!!

Mike,
If you're looking for official reviews of the old line up, most can be found
here.

Thanks, Joe. I had already harvested all of that information from the archives. I just haven't had a chance to get it into the new site.

Mike,
Hifi Choice magazine reviewed the RR2 in issue #221. I tried to get hold of this issue a while back, but its sold out. Maybe Royd have a copy.

I have a copy of a HIFI+ review of RR1. Ask if you need it.
