20 inchers now 549
23 inchers now 1049

Thanks for the tip, Gary. As it happens, I ended up taking my chances with the Dell 2001FP - I bought two for £760 all-in, and I honestly am deeply impressed. Connected using DVI, and with a shot of my wife's work's colour calibration spider, I could not be happier. The gray test is perfect, and it's VERY bright and no ghosting at all (it uses a panel from the same range as the APple displays).
I contemplated dropping two bigguns on the 30" ACD, but with the money saved I can now spring for a dual 2.7 with toys (including iSight) which I plan to order later today...
Happy John

PS. If I qualify for the Apple Education Discount, will that mean I can't put through the paperwork for the G5/2.7D and reclaim VAT and offset against Tax, etc.? Just curious, as the business reclaim is probably worth more than the discount, but if I can apply both, then happy days indeed...
