Speeding In Berlin:
Posted by: Berlin Fritz on 29 December 2005
Berlin's first ever GATSO, or staionary speeding camera came into operation TODAY for the very FIRST TIME. It'll be quite interesting to see how the initial recipiants of postal fines react? as unlike most Brits, (in my experience) Berliners/Germans know their rights (and who their Chancellor is) etc, (whoever they may be) and do not generally take things lying down, using the Courts almost as often as Gorgeous George Galloway does, (and quite right too) when faced with beurocratic bullshit², ( I do respect Germans in this way actually, as after a decision has finally been made (at whatrever level) they generally just get on with things without too much animosity or time-wasting bitterness, innit
Berlin's Electricity company BEWAG ceases to exist as from tomorrow as well, after providing the City with Ström for over 120 years, and will be taken over by VATTEN a Swedish concern of all things, though not British, fortunately for us who choose to live here
