Any boat users out there?

Hi,
having been away with my family to Florida, they have become interested in purchasing a boat/cruiser. They are looking at a 25-27ft boat.

We tried the sundancer 25 and Monterey 25-27, but I wondered if any of you here had an experiences of using boats of this type etc?

General questions to start off with - I'm sure it will get specific (as usual! )

thanks

Andy.

(PS - the boat will be kept in florida)

Mr C,

Have you sailed before? As keeping a boat in Florida is akin to having a boat landlocked on Windermere, a sheer waste of money, unless you're going to sail it back to the UK of course, then sail in it every weekend. Or are you going to live out there?

Yo,

It's my in-laws that are getting said item - they are out there more and more as they own property out there. I'd also say that the south west coast gives plenting of inland/coastal sailing, especially around port Charlotte/Sarasota etc.

I'd say that the cost isn't too much of an issue, according to them, anyway.

Boat hire over there is silly money as soon as you get above 20 feet in length btw (mainly due to the liability ins. Oh, and yes, I have sailed before.

You'll be needing a themed vessel out in Florida, one which will fit in well with the sailing fraternity, you could also recover some of the huge costs of owning such a pleasure craft by doing day trips, or even fishing and diving trips, coastal cruises!

You being a copper this vessel would perhaps suit?

Plus you'd provide merriment for others who couldn't afford the £45,000 price tag!
