Moles

Funny things moles.
I wonder why a fur covered mammal lives entirely underground? If they were made for underground living, surely they would be hairless?
I like them, although I'm not sure I've ever seen one.
I'd like one for a pet.

I think they are great creatures, but then I do not own a lawn. Those that do wage endless campaigns against them!
Caught them a few times, they have the most astonishingly strong forlegs and this lustrous glossy coat. Surely the thick coat actually helps them to move underground as the mud does not stick but slides off. I guess it also keeps them warm.
I think I'd give them third in my 'favourite British mammal' competition behind the Hare and the Pine Marten.

Come on guys, bit topical and hi-brow this one isn't it?
Let's get back to more mundane matters such as civil wars in the Middle East, ever rising Council tax charges and, for Chillkram's benefit, the answer to life, the universe and everything.

Just wanted something more down to earth

If they lived entirely underground they wouldn't be such a bloody nuisance leaving great fat mounds every metre or so in my lawn.

Mole skin used to be used when making joints on lead cables, You could smooth the solder out without it sticking to the fur. Of course it may have been a trade name.

Surely it's not a lot to ask?

Looks to me like it's saying "Why the f**k can't you leave me in peace and stop taking my picture??!!"

Is that a photo of a mole's face or a mole's arse?

That is a mole's face, and he's asking you to give him a big hug. He's saying "Deane, Deane, I need a big hug".
He's a friendly little fella, this mole.

Ahh, never seen a mole before. Now that I think about it I recall that they have no eyes.
I'd give him a hug. Looks more huggable than a hedgehog, anyway.

I can confirm that real moleskin is not used for making plumbers soldering wipes, they are 100% cotton fabric with the outer fold "skin" being oiled, they're just called moleskin wipes!

Of course they've got eyes!

I believe the nurse at your local health centre can now remove them for you.

Evolution being what it is, you'd think they would have invented the electric light by now.
They love worms apparently, which is lucky.
