Hi,

Well I finally got round to doing something that I had planned and ran through in my mind but not had time for (too much woodwork) my Hifi was run from a separate breaker in the fuse box (the first one) down two 4mm twin and earths because I had ran out of 6mm during the house rewire, to a double MK Logic un-switched socket then to two 5 way distribution blocks with 13A cable.
The plan was to replace the MK logic socket with two 16A industrial plugs and sockets wired to the blocks with 2.5mm flexible cable (32A) and star wire them internally to the incoming cable. I had the sockets and plugs all I needed to do was fit them.

I got lucky with the sockets, I cut two 40mm diameter holes in a piece of 18mm MDF these holes overlapped the screw holes in the original pattress box so with two strips of metal screwed to the back of the MDF I could fix it to the wall using the faceplate screws into the existing box. The two 4mm cables where split and one fed each 16A socket with one earth to the pattress box.

I powered every thing up from its two hour sleep and wow I didn’t it expect it to make that much difference, it sounds more powerful, deeper bass and clearer in loud passages, it rocks big time!!! It was well worth the effort. I think that splitting the earths was I good idea they would form a loop connected together at each end. So I now have a 16A breaker feeding 4mm cable to a 16A socket connected to 2.5mm cable to each distribution block so I am still safe, the cable is the right size or larger for the breaker. The only problem is the depth of the plugs and sockets I had to move my stand about out 50mm as they lined up with a shelf.
