Great Al***, Dreadful Al*** Cover?

Peter (Northpole) posted Van Morrision's No Guru, No Method, No Teacher using (almost)this description. It set me thinking about how often I have been seduced by a cover only to find the album to be crap. Anyway can you think of great albums with rubbish covers? To kick things off:

Van Morrison (again) Enlightenment

I rather like that one - much underrated album in my view, though (significantly finer than some of their more recent efforts).

p.s. That last lot you posted were truly awful - I can't possibly find anything to compete with that!

HI Tam, horror of horrors I think it is one of their best (although I think they do as well) - it got lost in all the hype for Automatic For The People. Still think it is not a great cover though!

I'd agree with that Steve (about the album) - certainly I think it holds together very well and adds up to much more than the sum of its parts in the way a truly great album should. However, I'm also rather fond of Reveal. I wonder how I would feel about Automatic without the hype, unfortunately it's impossible to know.

regards, Tam

p.s. I also have a soft spot for Out of Time.... now excuse me while I get my coat!
