The motors

Seeing as I'm getting a bit nostalgic, I have half an idea to get the motors first album - I really like 'dancing the night away' and the guitar playing on other tracks.
Anyone else remember/like this album?

I loved the single Airport. Great band. Didn't Bram Tchaikovsky come out of The Motors? Maybe I'm getting mixed up with another band, but made a fantastic solo album that I played to death at the time.

yes he did, in fact I saw his band many years ago at a pub in Kingston, nice bloke - well into bikes as I recall.
Anyway I've ordered the album - hope it's more enjoyable than the recent King Crimson acquisition....

I think the Motors' debut album is excellent, but I don't think the group liked it so much - thinking it was too raw. Hence the second album, which contained more polished tracks like Airport, was called Approved By The Motors.
IMO both albums stand the test of time and are great to listen to.

Aaah the Motors ...I met them back stage at Sunderland Polytech in 77'(?)I was a roadie for a bunch of mates whose band were the support act.
....The singer asked me if there was "any smokes available" ..I pointed out the ciggy machine in the corridor ....he laughed and it was apparent he didn't mean those sort of "smokes" (the naivety of youth!)"...DOH!
The 12" of Dancing The Night Away is crackin' if you can find it anwhere.
