Cable recommendation needed.

Hi there,
I'm at the moment at to start looking at putting my rear speakers back up in my new house.
The cable must run in the walls, so needs to be thin ish, flexible to be routed around corners and in small spaces.
It shouldn't be too expensive, as I need approx. 2 x 10m runs of it and the nice one is, that it must run happily into a NAP 140.
Any good suggestions out there ?
Thanks,
Roy.

Maplin have a reasonable range. I use their XR72P cable in 2 x 10m runs for my rears from a NAP175. They even do an extra flexible flat cable for a few p more. I think the standard NACA5 or the Chord equivalents will be to awkward to get round corners or into walls.

Whilst I would agree 100% if these were the front speakers and you were listerning to music.
Thats why I use chord signature on my fronts, the type of sound coming from the rears in an AV system is normally far from musical also the rear speakers are usually a lesser speaker than the fronts.
It always comes down to a compromise between ease of installation and ultimate sound.

Very true. im using a cheaper chord speaker cable for the rears with great results.

Trevor,
Like you I'm using Chord Signature on the fronts (and centre). I had two long runs (14m) of Chord Rumour made up for the rears which I am very happy with.

We (who?) have used Chord Leyline. It does not seem to be on their site but is a decent cable that looks almost exactly like two core mains cable externally - with decent conductors inside. Very flexible.

Sonance also do a specific cable for 'building in' which I found to be reasonable to work with. The main conductors are only 16AWG, so it is a bit on the 'thin' side for Hi Fi, but does a good job for my rear Proacs
Having said that, when I was doing mine I didn't know of the Chord leyline mentioned above.
Someone mentioned putting NACA5 into brick / plasterwork. I dont think so.. not unless you have the patience of a saint trying to hold it in position! I wouldnt wont to be the one chasing out a channel to get two runs of that stuff to the rear of a room round a couple of 90'corners.
