Power suplies and Voodoo

Help, Help, Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Iam lost in cable voodoo hell. I know, I need a cable, I just do not know what is is.

I am having my NAIT3 upgraded to take a Flatcap but still function as an intergrated amplifier. To this effect I apparently need a cable to take the signal from the flatcap that has come from the pre-amp stage of my flatcap, and connect it to the power amp stage of the NAIT 3. What is this cable called, answers will result in deification and worship.

That's an excellent upgrade to the Nait. I have done it myself, first flatcap and then hicap. Very nice. I can't remember exactly what cables you need and can't check as I'm not at home. I suppose you have your dealer doing the work on the Nait? He will supply you with the right cables I suppose.

You need 2 SNAIC cables, a 5-way one (which should come with your FlatCap) and a 4-way one which you'll need to buy separately. Your dealer will provide one (at a price - ca £60 I think

)
or if you're on a tight budget there are some 3rd party or s-hand ones on the market much cheaper - look on E-bay.

PS: please don't bother with the deification, I couldn't cope with the fame and anyway I'm not worthy etc.

After the mod is done, and BEFORE you obtain an external power supply to use, you will only need one cable I beleive.

This cable should come with the mod. Otherwise the mod will leave you with a non-working Nait.

Are you having the work done by Naim or by a Naim-authorized dealer?

I have purchased a Flatcap already, and it includes the Snaic (5 way) however I have checked with my dealer (NAIM approved but thanks for asking) and he will be supplying me with the additional cable. I have decided to pay the premium and let him supply it, rather than source on through e-bay, I just do not feel brave enough to risk my loveley Naim.
