Japanese CDs what makes it better?

Hello,
Over the past few weeks, I acquired a few Japanese Vinyl replicas. Even though the covers are really beautiful and without barcodes, I also like the sound of the japanese pressings much more, than the ones from the west.
I got Hendrix, Band of Gypsys
Focus, Hamburger Concerto
Stevie Window Box, Island Years
Santana III and Lotus
Weather Report, Tale Spinnin
a few Doldinger Passport and Jan Akkerman
Tony Williams, joy of flying
Miles Davis, on the corner
and more
It also seems that the japanese use a few different codings like K2HD.
Very pleasant sound to my ears, not harsh, and very open.
What are your experiences?
For me it is worth to save the money for the japanese pressings and buy less western ones.
regards
urs

Anyone tried U2's War on MFSL?

The CD makes the base recording sound as if it's such crap, I find it hard to believe you can do much with it.

Although I agree that there is objective evidence obtainable that sonically some Japanese-released plastic music-discs sound better, I believe that the ones I have bought seem to sound better to me because of the hassle in buying them/for the 'extra elsewhere unreleased' tracks.

I look forward to Paul Merton's televised tour of Japan.

Haven't heard any of the U2 mfsl discs Steve. However I believe that a couple of them have some longer trax than the normal releases.
