Mr Parker's Band

I found a Charlie Parker LP at a record and CD fair in Canterbury last weekend, which I've just cleaned up and is currently on the Mighty Garrard. There's absoluely no personnel information on the record. It's called Bird Song and has the following cuts on it;

  • Bird Song
  • Cool Bird
  • Inside Out
  • Soul Time
  • Blue Diamond
  • Soul Interlude
  • Bird's nest
  • Long Time
  • Pure Delight
  • Blue Lament
  • It's a Sin to Tell a lie
  • Dance Time

    The music seems to be late period Parker, because some of the cuts are in stereo and I think that Bud Powell is on at least one cut - Soul Interlude. Does anybody have an idea of the personel on these recordings ?

    Well, the album is a collection of this and that, some cuts have very good sound quality others are more historic. It sounds to me to be mostly '50s recordings, but some of the cuts may be older.
