Naim ARO interconnects

Posted by: nodrog on 24 November 2001

I have heard these mentioned as the bees knees for CD-amp (in my case Marantz 67SE-CDNait 2) How does one get hold of them, as they seem to be unavailable anywhere. Are they available from dealers, or is the cable sold as is to be made up by oneself?. Also, if anyone out there does use them, just how good are they?

Thanks

Aro cable is NOT available as an interconnect. We use it ONLY to make the arm lead. If it was better than what we currently use then don't you think we'd supply it?

I rate the stuff incredibly highly. If you have to terminate something that has RCA plugs to a Naim amp then I have yet to come across anything better. Works great in non-Naim systems too. I have heard Aro clearly see off the more expensive cables in the Nordorst range, a stupidly expensive Straight Wire, a similarly priced Transparent Audio, everything I have heard from Kimber, Deltec Black, Slink, silver stuff I have made up myself etc etc. It takes a while to burn in, but once it does I can find little wrong with it, apart from…

So you can't buy it off the reel any more? Shame, I made up loads for friends, we got it from the Sadly defunct Studio 99 in London, and we never got charged the same price twice!

I've still got a DIN to RCA that I use for my phono stage and a spare RCA to RCA length that I'm hanging onto in case I need it for anything. Considering I have heard it to my ears beat cables costing upwards of 300 quid for a stereo pair it ain't going anywhere anytime soon! Shame it does not seem to be available off the reel anymore, I always fancied making up a lead for my bass!

This is what I wanted to hear! And from a guy with a Nait 2 as well smile I would be very interested in contacting you if you would be willing to let any get away.

Thanks
