St Patricks Day

A very happy day of mischief and madness to all Irish Naimies and their supporters.
As Australians we do not have a patron saint and probably don't deserve one so we appropiate all others as we see fit.

Last sunday, Munich "got own3d" by the Irish. After a prolonged spell of temperatures between 0 and minus 20 degC, with snow still on the ground, it turned out to be a beautiful day (we didn't let it get away).
About 15,000 people usually turn out to watch or take part in the parade along Leopoldstrassse, led by the city mayor, Christian Ude.
A loose affiliation of groups included celtic pipe bands through to Brazillian drum bands.
No one was stabbed. No banks were robbed.
Where ever you are, happy St.Patrick's Day.
Brian

Apparently Gerry Adams & Marty Mac lookalikes have been seen in the vicinity of the Jap bank in London today where an attempted £220 mill bank job (electronic )took place, the Belfast bank, being uninsured and Australian owned (as you all may not know ?) was gonna get a payback, says a spoke-woman, who cannie be named.

ahh, St. Patrick's Day... probably half the bars in the US will have hired a kilt-clad highland piper for the occasion.
morons.

Why's that so bad, Jay ?

Nothing against Scots, highland pipes, or kilts. I just thought St. Patrick was Irish, not Scottish. They might just as well hire a kimono-clad koto player or a sitarist in a sari.

IIRC, he was Welsh, but I take your point. At our parade, there were, as far as I can remember, Albanians, Brazilians, Bavarians and possibly Scottish pipers. It's not meant to be exclusive, rather everyone welcome. I enjoyed hearing the various types of music to be honest.
Scots bagpipes are celtish enough and sound great in my opinion.
Don't take it so serious !

I heard this joke once: The Irish presented the bagpipes to the Scots as a joke, except the Scots didn't get it.
Happy (belated)St. Patrick's day.
Daniel (who likes the pipes.)
