yes I read about this in the LA Times. I bet it will be interesting. I've been listening to Famous Blue Raincoat. wonderful lyrics, I didn't care for him when I was younger but age has taught me a few things and like the relaxed sound.

Good news. I saw the great man twice on the recent tour - at Edinburgh Castle and Glasgow SECC. Both were good but the second was the better of the two - the band had really got their act together and were on sublime form - helped that I was sat in the second row
They were actually recording at the SECC so I wondered if they were may be going to produce a DVD including performances from different venues, but obviously not. I'm married and have three kids and still... the SECC was one of the greatest days of my life, easily..........

I have liked Leonard COhen since I was about 16 (40 years or so). I saw him twice at the O2 in Lndon including the concert now recorded on dvd. I figured, given his age that if I did not see him then I would probably never get the chance again. The concert was fantastic and his voice and the arrangements of the songs were far better than the original songs on cd. What a great band. I enjoyed about 3 hours of the best concert I have ever been to and was able to book even better tickets for the second concert.
Despite thc cost this was fantastic value for money. Yesterday I relived it all courtesy of the new DVD. At 74 the man is a fantastic performer with a golden voice and I count myself lucky to have seen him and his band.

You can listen/download a 2008 Live In New York concert at the NPR concert podcasts page. My wife (who is the big Cohen fan) says it is exceptional.
Mind you he could clear his throat out on record and she'd be in raptures!

Sadly, NPR have pulled the podcast as part of an agreement with Sony - the podcast was to be available only until the release of the Live in London DVD / CD.
