Nat03 vs Nat05

My brother in law wants to buy a tuner. He took for a demo a Nat03 and he likes it a lot, he doesn't like the one knob and the long way to go from one edge of the scale to the other.

So he wants to buy Nat05 – but here is the problem: The dealer in Israel can’t give him a Nat05 for a demo – and the man has to guess…

The gap in prices is a big one - ~620$ for a Nat03, ~ 1,250$ for a Nat05.

The question is: If he likes the sound of the Nat03, can he buy blindly the Nat05?

I have owned both the 03 and currently use a 05 as well as an 01.

The 05 is way above the 03. It is miles better all round. If he can afford it, tell him to buy it.

Well, he took the Nat05 for a demo, he opened the sealed box and.... he found the remote with a wet batteries chamber as the batteries were in the chamber.

Is it possible that Naim are inserting batteries into the remote at the factory and are shipping the remotes this way?
