I just heard our classical DJ of great taste do a Sunday morning hour on 3 recordings of Tosca. Her's was one. The others were Leontyne Price and recent one of Giorghiou Sp? He said for shear thrill of acting, voice and perfection in the whole recording it was, hands down, Callas and di Stefano. I think on EMI.

I'm considering buying it tho there is a premium on her recordings even tho they're 50 years old. Really raking in the money off her.

I have her in Norma. Not in as great voice as it was late in her career when they rerecorded her, but it's a thrill to hear her mature performance.

You mean Angela Gheorghiu?

Yes, I can never spell her name right, She's fantastic with her husband. I saw them to La Boheme on stage in LA. Fantastic singers for today. They make a great couple.

The DJ said it's a good recording with the latest high sound quality, but for shear perfection and thrill it had to be Callas with di Stephano as being the best.
