Dealer Reference New Audio Frontiers

Posted by: Potiriadis on 29 October 2003

Dear Forum

I am considering having an active DBL/135 setup moved from the UK to Greece and I have had a quote in from Derek Whittington of New Audio Frontiers. Has anyone had any dealing or work done by this dealer?? I'm just trying to do a background check before I surrender my kit into his clutches for transport and installation.

Help Bunnys everywhere!!!!!

No Seriously, everywhere!!!!!!!

Derek has a huge amount of knowledge and pays tremendous attention to detail. He would be right at the top of my list to undertake what you are needing. Highly recommended.

Dealt with Derek a few years ago when I lived in Nottingham. Also have a mate who used to work for him at Sound Advice.

A fine chap, no worries.

I have had most of my gear off Derek since 1985 (18 years - that's quite a long time!) he is without doubt one of the most knowledgable, likeable men in the industry.
I'd say you couldn't go wrong using his services.

Martin.

Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

I bought my first LP12 off Derek in 1980. (Or was it '79)

I've always been very happy with the service he provides.

This could turn into a "Who's been dealing with Derek the longest?" thread.

I have had both good and bad experiences with Derek. I'm afraid I would not use him again simply because I have been very impressed with another dealer more recently, rather than Derek being terrible.

You say he is going to install the equipment? You mean he is flying over to Greece?

More knowledgable (on hifi and music)than anyone else I have ever come across, a true gentleman and excellent taste in music.
