active vs passive

Hi Ken,

Even I am using lesser system, CD3.5+Hi/92R+FLAT
/90X2/SNAXO 2-4 + FLAT/SBL, IMO, the difference is very obvious. Now I am thinking about to go for CDSII/82+Hi/250X2 shortly, it should be great, can't wait!

i have always heard that you have to max out on the pre-amp before activation, but there are plenty of happy people like you who have active systems based on other than 52 preamp. and in any case, in good old days, there were many a mean active system based on the nac32/hicap.

cdsii -- serious cd player. get it!

thanks for voting guys. i dont think the numbers will change much now.

passive 69%
active 20%
both 11%

not surprising about the passive %age. i am pleasantly surprised by the proportion of active systems - somewhat higher than i thought.
