That picture doesn't seem to be working. However, have you tried http://rswww.com or http://www.farnell.co.uk? They are both respected electronic component retailers in the UK.

..hmmmmm I can see it here!

No, it's the FM ariel connector - the one for the T ariel not the coaxial. Maplin don't have one that I can see.

The link apears to be to C:\.... which would explain why you can still see it - your browser is just picking it up from your hard disk!

You can get the T type of aerial with the coax plug fitted, though speaking as a fellow FM3 owner (mine is actually in a box in my wardrobe, but…) you need a decent roof or loft aerial with this tuner. It is an insensitive bugger and really needs a good strong signal to work correctly. I keep meaning to get mine serviced, I have had the thing for over 20 years!

Hi,

I have a catalogue at home I will have a look tonight, or you could just wedge it in with matchsticks.

Along these lines, is anyone aware of any analogous retailers (preferably with a reasonable on-line presence) in the US? Frye's ain't it...

Thanks for any insight.

Erik,

Although not an American company, The Parts Connection isn't bad. They have an 80 page catalog in PDF format that you can download via their site at http://www.partsconnection.on.ca/
They also have a toll free order line via 1-800-769-0747.

Wow, cool, consider yourself asked nicely!

I don't think there is actually anything wrong with mine, it still works, but it just sounds a bit tired and I'm convinced lacks sensitivity compared to ten years ago. I had a quick look inside about 2 years ago and nothing had leaked, it really is in fabulous condition inside and out. It would be great to get it back up and running properly.

Nice one, Pete. Tony, you should consider having yourself tattooed with "I beat my FM3 and consigned it to the wardrobe - oh woe is me" , you nasty boy. You've been talking about sorting it since I first saw your postings on the forum so many years ago... come on man, you need FM in your life. Cable arguments need not apply! razz

I know, I just have not got round to it. Now is probably a good time to do it as my flat has actually got FM aerial ports in each room. Hopefully these connect to a half decent roof aerial, so I might be able to get a decent signal for once. Not sure which system I would stick it in, possibly the studio one, it would be good to have a decent tuner for when I am "working" on the computer.

If the house is yours just get a roof aerial fitted, they are way cheaper than anything else with hi-fi pretensions. Just phone a few TV aerial installers for quotes, I bet you could get a half decent one fitted for about 50 quid.
