Listener mag. does it again - I wish they wouldnt!

Just got the latest issue of Listener magazine, and this months "Classic" is the Naim 32.5. THere's about 6 pages on this pre-amp, all very positive. How on earth are we supposed to pick up cheap used gear when Listener keeps writing about it? I recall that they wrote up Kans a few months back. Still, in spite of being big blabber-mouths, I think it the best read about hi-fi and music going.

I agree with your comments about Listener, especially Art's articles. He gets it and has a way of communicating the message.

Well it has happened. I inquired about a 32.5 (w/ time-aligned boards) on audiogon the day it was posted. It had already been sold! Supposedly the seller had several offers within hours of posting (and it was posted very late in the day).
Art Dudley (if you read this) - you owe me a bunny!

I agree with all that has been said about Listener - it is a terrific read and covers much of the equipment that we all own and enjoy on this forum. They do cover the tube/valve SET and Lowther world as well. I find this tube/valve coverage quite interesting given how different it is from the standard Naim/Linn gear. This has stimulated my interested in assembling a second system based upon tubes/valves and high efficiency speakers. Hard to drive Kans with a 3 watts amp ...
Listener is actually the only magazine that I've ever purchased back issues of - it is really that good. Back issues are only availble from 1999 onward (I've personally purchased copies of all available issues). Drag.
