Kate has a new al*** due out on 22nd Nov

Heard a few tracks on the wireless when she was interviewed in the week - it is a bit different from previous work, but sounded superb. Kate has written all the songs herself.

I'd be happy if it was a bit different. Nice as her first few albums were they all seem very much in the comfort zone, and I'd like to hear her with more varied material.

Saw her live this year and the most interesting bits were a duet with her new husband and some tracks where the band were a lot more prominent.

I know I may be swimming against the tide here but I found her onstage bonhomie just a touch too much as well.

Yet another example of a live concert I've attended where I liked the artist and their material less afterwards! I'll get my coat....

Can't go wrong...

"Bush", "Walsh", "Rusby" - all great stuff. Look forward to any these releasing a new album.

Bollocks, I thought this was about KATE ( there is Only One ), not some mere singer.

Bruce,

I have to say I'm with you on this one. As much as I like Kate she had become rather formulaic so I'd welcome something a bit different. I saw her live about 3 times over a couple of years and even the banter/"jokes" were the same each time. I haven't played her albums much since - perhaps the new album will resurrect my interest?

Maybe this is a thread in its own right but this happened to me with Ben Harper and Joe Bonamassa and I am sure there would be some others...
