Don't people ever think of wearing earplugs at these concerts? Everybody knows Motorhead are one of the loudest bands in history..If you want to enjoy that Naim system into old age I would strongly suggest wearing a pair.

Could be worse. Imagine them playing a gig in your house...

More and more people wear earplugs to them. I can't see the point frankly.

What?

The point is that some people want to preserve their hearing. No doubt you have a nice Naim set-up. If your hearing has been completely shot by rock concerts and discos then the question is "What is the point" of having a decent hifi when you are too deaf and/or suffering tinnitus to enjoy it?

I remember going to see The Damned in 1985. When the support act came on I thought "Blimey, this is loud. I can't imagine The Damned being any louder". But they were. I heard the first three chords then just a buzzing sound for 5 or 6 seconds before I could actually distinguish music again.
On the way home I was annoyed to find the car radio had given up the ghost.
Next morning I put the key in the ignition and nearly jumped out of my seat as the radio blared out full blast. The night before I'd driven home for 15 miles without knowing the radio was on full blast.
The moral of the tale?
Dunno really, but they were great!
Regards,
Steve.

At My Bloody Valentine's london gig last year ...Health and Safety warning notices were plastered all over the entrance and ear plugs were handed out at the door
