RESTORING CD* PUCK

Hi,

I'm not sure if this has been covered before. I've owned by cdx for about 3 years now and as you might have guessed, the 3 rubber rings on the cd puck is losing its "grip". Softly pinching them can only temporarily restore its shape and last a couple of cds.

A better solution would be to try to rotate the rubber feet for about a quarter turn. This can be achieved by using a stiff toothpick (or anything similar). Insert the toothpick into the centre of the rubber ring, slowly apply light pressure and rotate the rubber ring in a circular fashion. This would create tension on the rubber ring and slowly, after a few tries, you will notice the ring will start to rotate. Make sure you do not apply too much pressure which will cause the ring to stretch permanently.

My cd puck is as good as new and sounding much better and best of all, it does skip at loud passages. Try it.
