Beatles remasters due in 2009 shock

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but at the end of Mojo mag's article on the so-called White Album (supposedly 40th anniversary but at least 2 months early), it's mentioned that all the Fabs' LPs are to be issued in remastered form next year. One assumes CDs as well as the itunes tie-in they've apparently announced. Hopefully 24/96 USB ice-lollies as well.
Ironically the Mojo men were played some examples of remastered tracks - from the White Album. I say ironically, because this is the one LP which already has been remastered since the late 1980s - albeit in 1998, as a 30th anniversary reissue. Which I still have.
No doubt purists will complain if the LPs are released without bonus tracks (or if they do have bonus tracks, either way EMI can't win). They'd be best advised to just release them straight, even if it means a few 32-minute CDs. Then there's the mono/stereo issue - personally I'd take the stereo mix alone.
