Retipping--Where To Go

My Karma will need retipping soon. Does anyone have any thoughts about having it done by Linn vs. Expert Stylus or anyone else?

I sent my Troika to expert yesterday. All things being equal it will cost GBP192 + VAT, unless other problems are found. Well it is five years old.
Why? Well the Linn prices are a bit steep. And I remember being told once that these cartridges, made for them in Japan, cost a fraction of their RRP. So if Expert make their prices based on materials/labour, are Linn just basing their prices on a percentage of RRP? In which case they can take a jump.

Expert are the experts.

Do Expert carry a stock of re-tipped cartridges? If so I wonder what they carry and what are the prices?

Expert Stylus contacted me yesterday: my Troika is showing uneven signs of radius wear because of badly set baising, and this has led to the cantilever now pointing a bit to the left! Add to that a dent in the cantilever where I appear to have crashed it.
But the quote to repair/re-align the cantilever and re-tip, and strip down and clean all the yokes is confirmed at £192 all-in. Sounds like a bargain to me.

All of my previous moving magnet cartridges have exibited this to some degree or another (offset tip), the Klyde seems OK.
I always set bias in roughly the correct area, then tweak by ear.
Anyone know a better way?
Andy.
