isobarik vintage

can someone point me to a discussion on what vintages (by serial number) of isobariks are the best buys? i seem to recall some very specific information on this some time ago.

You also need to remember that the DMS is passive and the PMS is active. So that in itself will restrict your choice.

mick: many thanks -- i have seen some bariks serial nos 10809/10 that "look" good, but according to the link you have provided arthur (for which many thanks) this places this speaker at somewhere around 1979/80... hmmmm older than the ones i used to own (1984 vintage).
by the way mick, what is the vintage of your isobariks? and is there anyone who can service these beasts...

It's probably a good idea to do a search in the Forum to get the differing opinions. You will find that is really no consensus on which Brik is the best. Some like the Kustone ones, some do not. Some like the second generation tweeters, some do not. Some suggest replacing the tweeters with the new Ninka ceramic tweeters.
DMS/PMS makes a difference too. Some like the internal crossovers (Falcom type) better than the later external ones.
The condition of the drivers is very important too. They are no longer made so you'd have to dig up NOS which can be hard with the woofers. The B110 mids are a bit easier.
